Wednesday’s Chicago Blackhawks game in Buffalo is rescheduled for Thursday because of heavy snow

Wednesday night’s game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center was rescheduled for 6 p.m. CST Thursday because of travel restrictions in the Buffalo area, the Hawks announced.

The game had been set to air nationally on TNT, which instead showed the Detroit Red Wings-Florida Panthers game.

The rescheduled Hawks-Sabres game will air on NBC Sports Chicago, and Brendan Burke will provide play-by-play.

During a Buffalo-area news broadcast, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said the county has been trying to keep up with five days of snowstorms that have played a role in three deaths. The county placed driving bans in effect for several areas.

Last weekend the Buffalo Bills’ NFL playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers was postponed from Sunday to Monday.
