Juventus centre-back Giorgio Chiellini is probably delighted to now be on the same team as Bianconeri forwards Gonzalo Higuain, Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic after describing the strength of each player from previous experiences of facing them.
Speaking about his colleagues to France Football, Chiellini explained, "I had the chance to mark all three of them before they came to Turin."
The Italian international said of Higuain, "Gonzalo is a striker with incredible strength in his legs and he's almost impossible to control in the box. He's really good in his movement and he'll seize upon the tiniest error. He's also really technically good and he can hit it with either foot."
Formerly of Palermo, 23-year-old Dybala is newer to the elite level but still tipped for greatness. "Paulo can destabilise a defence at any moment with a gesture, a dribble, an unpredictable action," Chiellini commented on the younger Argentine.
As for Mandzukic, a goalscorer whose ability is perhaps sometimes overlooked in relation to others despite previous spells at Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, Chiellini said keeping the Croatian under wraps as an opposition defender is incredibly demanding.
"His speed and his strength end up reducing a defender to his basics. If you have to mark him, you're completely exhausted when the game finishes," the Juve cult hero explained.
"In this team, there's a lot of technique, but also the ability to play physically and a spirit of sacrifice. With what he shows on the pitch, Mario is the symbol of this Juve."
