Chris Davies isn’t optimistic that key duo Krystian Bielik and Jay Stansfield will be available for this weekend’s FA Cup tie with Lincoln City.

Birmingham City host the Imps at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park on Saturday lunchtime before making the trip to Swindon Town in the Vertu Trophy on Tuesday. Bielik and Stansfield missed last weekend’s win over Wigan through injury and they are expected to be unavailable once more.

“They’re both day by day still,” Davies said at his pre-Lincoln press conference. “They are niggles more than anything else, they aren’t long-term injuries, but both would be doubtful for the weekend.”

Wingers Keshi Anderson and Emil Hansson are currently sidelined too. Hansson’s latest muscular issue is expected to keep him out for longer than Anderson.

Davies added: “Keshi is not a long one but he’s very doubtful for this weekend. Emil is a little bit longer than that.”

On a more positive note, Davies could call on Icelandic right-back Alfons Sampsted against Lincoln. The on-loan FC Twente defender hasn’t played for Blues in two months due to an ankle injury but has now returned to full training.

“Alfons is back available and has been training now for a couple of weeks, he just hasn’t been featuring in the squads. He has trained well and hard and he’s ready to go.”
