The Cincinnati Bengals came minutes away from a fairytale Super Bowl win last season, after quarterback Joe Burrow spearheaded the side to a miraculous play-off run.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2021/22, earning the respect of his fellow quarterbacks around the NFL. But in the end, his Bengals side fell just short of winning the Vince Lombardi trophy, with the Los Angeles Rams producing a comeback to win 23-20 back in February.

With the Super Bowl loss fresh in their memory, the AFC champions can now prepare for the upcoming NFL season, and Burrow insisted that his side won't fall short this time around.
"I'm not going to accept losing," said Burrow.
"Obviously I've been grinding, but it's also been relaxing not having to worry about, 'Am I going to be ready for the season?' "I can just focus on getting my body right, making sure I'm healthy and relaxing."
Burrow helped his side to the Super Bowl despite battling a knee injury he suffered back in 2020. He wore a knee brace for the entirety of last season as a result, but recent training photos suggest he's ready to remove it for the 2022/23 campaign.

He was pictured without the brace during May's contact practices, and he's since stated that he doesn't anticipate wearing the brace during games this season, although he did admit that he's yet to make a final decision on the matter. Regardless, it's a hugely promising development for Bengals fans, who will hope to see their side build on a remarkable season this year.
The Super Bowl is clearly the only target in Burrow's mind, and he can already start preparing to make a strong start when the Bengals face the Pittsburgh Steelers in their opening NFL fixture on September 11.
