City's Pearce named National League Player of the Month
HOTSHOT York City striker Ollie Pearce has been named the Vanarama National League’s Player of the Month for November.
Pearce’s accolade completes a hat-trick of league awards for the Minstermen over the last three months, with Adam Hinshelwood named the Manager of the Month in both September and October.

The 29-year-old reunited with Hinshelwood after making the move north from Worthing in the summer and has a league-high 14 goals and four assists to his name so far this season.
He bagged a brace against rivals Hartlepool United on November 9 before netting a hat-trick against Yeovil a fortnight later and closed out the month with another two goals in City’s 6-2 rout of Maidenhead United.
With an xG of 8.51, Pearce is outperforming by almost double, registering a goal every 120 minutes and 0.75 goals per match.
Hinshelwood is delighted for the striker, stressing the winter months are crucial for the season's outcome.
He told a press conference: “He’s in an unbelievable vein of form and is training really hard.
“Even at the start of the season when he was going through a bit of a barren run for him, he was still working tirelessly and showing his quality.
“I’m delighted for Ollie, and like myself, I think this is the time of year that you really want the awards – December, January, February is a time when it really matters.
“We’ll be doing all we can to build on those and hope there’s no hoodoos from that award and he’ll be definitely looking to build on that good form that he’s in.”
