Incoming Arsenal signing Matt Turner has wasted no time endearing himself to Gunners fans after an interaction with a Tottenham fan.

The goalkeeper is heading to the Emirates Stadium this summer to play back-up to Aaron Ramsdale, with a deal agreed in February before he played out the remainder of the season with Major League Soccer side New England Revolution.

Turner on Sunday night bid farewell to MLS ahead of finalising his move to Arsenal, and was busy signing shirts after a 2-1 win over Minnesota United - until he saw a Tottenham fan, though.

As fans lined up with pictures and shirts, one fan wearing a Spurs kit tried to get Turner to sign a United States jersey with Turner's name on it.

Turner went to oblige but saw the fan wearing a Tottenham kit, quickly stopped and went: "Oh, no!"

New England Revolution tweeted the footage with the caption: "I think he’ll fit in just fine on his side of North London".

Arsenal fans were quick to hail Turner, describing him as "one of us".

Turner is set to complete his protracted move to the Gunners this month.
