The Solid Miners' gaffer believes they have what it takes to begin the season with a home win against the reigning champions in Lafia

Coach Kabiru Dogo claims that the break Nasarawa United players embarked upon will prove to be a wise decision after his players resumed on Sunday.

The Solid Miners have a league game more just like others in the topflight before the end of the first stanza but unlike others, they won’t be facing their foes, Rivers United on Wednesday because of the latter’s Caf Confederation Cup assignment against Rayon Sports.

“The management graciously accepted to allow the players and coaches to embark on a week break to reunite with their families for Easter. It was a wise decision and by the time the club will be reaping the reward of what they have done they won’t know that the break had done wonders,” Dogo informed Goal.

“We have resumed and are preparing for the tie with Rivers United expected to come up on May 5th. We know no league match is easy but we are focusing on our recent performances to seal a home win in the final match of the first round.”

Nasarawa United are 10th on the Nigeria topflight log with 24 points from 18 games.
