College fantasy football players to be wary of in Week 10

As the playoffs approach you may need to take a big swing to clinch your spot in the postseason. That may mean benching a reliable performer or two this week. Here are some good players you should be wary of this week with some overlooked guys you should consider starting.

QUARTERBACK

Be wary of Adrian Martinez, Nebraska: Martinez has been one of the most reliable quarterbacks in college fantasy football even if Nebraska has been terrible. He’s scored more than 20 points in every game so far. That streak could end against Ohio State on Saturday.

Play Alan Bowman, Texas Tech: The Red Raiders host Oklahoma and it could turn into a shootout. Bowman is back healthy and owned in just 18 percent of leagues. Bowman could end up being one of the top-scoring quarterbacks of the weekend.

RUNNING BACK

Be wary of Eno Benjamin, Arizona State: Benjamin and N’Keal Harry form a dynamic 1-2 punch for Arizona State’s offense. But Harry is probably the better fantasy threat against Utah this weekend. Utah is No. 5 in the country in total defense and No. 3 in the country in rushing defense; the Utes give up just 2.66 yards per carry. And Benjamin has struggled in games against Michigan State, San Diego State, and Stanford.

Play J.J. Taylor, Arizona: Taylor is owned in less than half of leagues and has rushed for 366 yards and three touchdowns over his last two games. He also contributes some in the passing game too. He has five catches in that timeframe.

WIDE RECEIVER

Be wary of Laviska Shenault, Colorado: Colorado’s star has missed the last two games because of a toe injury. Perhaps not coincidentally, Colorado has lost both of those games. Shenault is questionable for Friday’s game against Arizona. If he plays he may not be 100 percent. Juwan Winfree could be a better option for the Buffs.

Play Tyler Johnson, Minnesota: The Gophers have a good matchup against Illinois on Saturday. Johnson has the seventh-most points of any wide receiver yet he’s owned in just 56 percent of leagues. He’s also on a streak of four-straight 100-yard games. If he’s available in your league you need to get him immediately.

DEFENSE

Be wary of LSU: This one’s pretty obvious. The Tigers don’t have star LB Devin White for a half and are playing the crazy-good Alabama offense.

Play Tennessee: The Vols are picked to score just five points but are facing lowly Charlotte. Picking a Power Five team against a lower team tends to work out well.
