College student shares ‘crazy’ hack to get free food every single day of the year without fail: 'Kind of terrible'

It’s nice to snag a free meal every once in a while, but this brilliant college student found a way to snag one every single day.

Noah Wille shared his cunning solution to one of the financial woes many young adults face with his TikTok followers.

“OK, life hack that’s also kind of terrible,” he said in the video. “I really hope I am not the only person who is crazy enough to do this.”

Wille explained that he created a fake email account that he then used to sign up for free birthday perks from every single restaurant near him in Southern California.

He told In The Know that one day when he was “struggling a bit” with his finances, he pulled up Google Maps and made a list of all the places that sell food in his area — ultimately, that was more than 800 spots.

Wille then built a spreadsheet with the names of all those restaurants, narrowing the list down to only include restaurants that offered a free birthday treat of some kind.

After that, he assigned each day of the year to one of the restaurants, then joined each of their mailing lists claiming a different day as his birthday. It’s beautifully organized.

“I mean it’s probably not the most ideal scenario, but this way I can guarantee myself ‘dinner,’ whether its a pretzel from Auntie Anne’s or even just some ice cream from Ben and Jerry’s … it’s definitely been paying off,” he told In The Know.

TikTok commenters went wild over his idea.

“That’s on broke college student life,” one user wrote.

“Crazy? No. The future leader of the world? 100 percent,” another said.

“It’s actually not that bad because every restaurant is anticipating giving you one free meal per year. You’re not getting more than promised,” a third mused.

Wille told In The Know that having his video go viral has put him in a “tough position,” as he wants to share his ingenious spreadsheet with the world, but he wants to take care of himself, as well.

“I’ve really wanted my social media to be a way to help people but I’ve never really been in a financial situation to help out that much,” he said. “I asked people to Venmo me what the spreadsheet is worth to them … even though it’s usually small it’s something that helps me help them.”

He said that even though the spreadsheet is specifically made for Southern California, he hopes the format and overall strategy can help people across the country afford food.
