Confident Alex Valle bets on himself as Celtic purchase bid to Barcelona 'left off the table'
Confident Alex Valle and his entourage reportedly rejected the chance for Celtic to insert a buy option with Barcelona – according to a report.
The 20-year-old has flashed glimpses of his potential and will now earn the chance to secure regular game time with Greg Taylor likely on the sidelines for the crunch clashes with Aberdeen and Atalanta. Valle joined the Premiership champions on a loan deal and now Sport claim Valle and his entourage were keen to keep their options open beyond his 12 months in Glasgow.
The Spain youth international has a relatively low buyout fee of £2.5m fee and Valle appears keen to see how his future looks after a season in Scotland with six Champions League matches still to come. The rampaging full-back earned praise for his display in the 2-1 win in Dingwall and is set to earn a shot at building on his burgeoning partnership with Daizen Maeda down the left against the Dons
Staying at Celtic beyond the summer remains a live option but Barcelona are set to evaluate his status at the end of the campaign.
