Connor Wynne has signed a new one-year contract extension with Hull, with the option for 2024.

Wynne, 21, came through the club’s academy system, making his first team debut in 2019 against Salford.

The centre has made eight appearances so far in 2022, scoring hat-tricks against Sheffield and Toulouse.

He had originally signed a one-year extension with Hull for the current season, with the option for 2023.

He said: “It was an incredibly easy decision for me to extend my contract here. I’m Hull born and this is my boyhood club having come through the academy system. Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing how my career develops over the next few years.

“I’m really enjoying my rugby now and I think I’ve progressed well this year. My aim now is to nail down a spot in the team every week and kick on even more.

“The hard work doesn’t stop now just because I’ve signed a contract – I want to keep building myself as a player here and hopefully sign a few more contracts in the years to come!

“Brett has shown some real faith in me and I think that’s really helped me develop my game, but I’m working hard both on and off the field with plenty of things to put myself in the best possible position to fulfil my potential and feature regularly for the team, and I think it’s paying off.

“Carlos and Griff have really taken me under their wing to help me work on areas of my game too, and they’ve played a big part in my progression. They’re both leaders in the camp and know how to get the best out of me when I’m training alongside them.”
