Conor Gallagher in line for England debut as midfielder trains with squad ahead of San Marino clash

Conor Gallagher trained with the England squad on Sunday morning after being called up to the senior squad for the first time.

Gallagher has been drafted into the squad ahead of Monday’s final World Cup qualifier in San Marino after Gareth Southgate was hit by five further withdrawals.

The Crystal Palace midfielder has been in fine form since moving to Selhurst Park on loan from Chelsea and is in line to make his England debut against San Marino.

The FA confirmed on Sunday that Jordan Henderson, Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, Mason Mount and Luke Shaw have all withdrawn from the England squad.

Henderson and Grealish have returned to Liverpool and Manchester City for further assessment on injuries.

Sterling will miss the San Marino game due to a personal matter.

Mount and Shaw will not join up with the squad. Mount will stay with Chelsea after having wisdom teeth out and Shaw is still recovering from concussion.

All 19 players in the England squad trained at Tottenham’s training ground on Sunday before they are due to travel out to San Marino on Sunday afternoon.
