Conor Gallagher has dropped a major transfer hint when delivering his verdict on Chelsea's new head coach Enzo Maresca. Earlier this week, the Blues confirmed the Leicester City boss as the permanent successor to Mauricio Pochettino with the 44-year-old signing a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

With pre-season set to officially begin in early July, Maresca has four weeks to solve a number of Chelsea dilemmas. Potential exits and new signings will likely dominate headlines with decisions to be made on the futures of Trevoh Chalobah and Gallagher among others.

The Blues have already agreed their first summer transfer with Tosin Adarabioyo set to join as a free agent after leaving Fulham at the end of his contract. With 26-year-old classed as a homegrown player, it has seemingly spelled the end of Chalobah's career in west London as Chelsea look to sell for pure profit.

Gallagher meanwhile, is fresh off a superb season in midfield but the club are still aiming to part ways this summer with his contract to expire in 12 months. Tottenham and Aston Villa have shown interest in the England international but he does not appear to be planning to spend the following season at anywhere but Chelsea.

"It’s really exciting," he told Sky Sports following England's 3-0 win against Bosnia and Herzegovina when asked about Maresca. "I’ve heard and seen really good things. Myself and everyone at Chelsea are really excited to work with him.

"We want to get Chelsea back to where they belong so with the new manager we can progress to get where we belong."

While Maresca may not have a say on Gallagher's future, he looks to have already made a number of transfer decisions. The Blues are showing a keen interest in RB Leizpig star Benjamin Sesko, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen along with Crystal Palace duo Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.

In terms of outgoings alongside Chalobah and Gallagher, returning loanees Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja, Ian Maatsen and Kepa Arrizabalaga are all expected to be sold.
