Conor Gallagher could remain at Chelsea beyond this summer if the latest reports are to be believed.

Rumours in recent days have seen Gallagher heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window. Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with an interest in signing the Blues midfielder this summer, but as things stand no offer has been submitted by either club.

Gallagher's contract at Chelsea is due to expire at the end of next season. Should no agreement be reached on a new contract in the next six months then the 24-year-old faces the prospect of leaving the Blues as a free agent in a year's time.

According to The Guardian, Gallagher is willing to be patient and assess his options before deciding whether to leave Chelsea this summer. The report states that Gallagher is ready to remain at Stamford Bridge if his demands for a transfer away from the club are not met.

As a result, it has been claimed that it is a real possibility that Gallagher could leave Chelsea on a free transfer in 12 months. However, the Blues are reported as having put a £50 million price tag on Gallagher's signature for clubs interested in signing the midfielder this summer.

Spurs and Villa are the two clubs that have reportedly shown an interest in signing Gallagher. The report concludes that the player does not want to be "pressured" into a transfer away from Chelsea and is prepared to wait before making a decision on his future.

Gallagher was a regular figure in Chelsea's midfield last season under Mauricio Pochettino, featuring in all but one of the 38 Premier League fixtures. It remains to be seen what plans new manager Enzo Maresca will have for Gallagher heading into next season and if the midfielder still has a long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
