Former UFC champion Conor McGregor has come under fire for visiting a local supermarket without wearing a face mask.

McGregor, the UFC’s first ever dual-weight titleholder, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a video of him in a supermarket in his native Ireland.

In the clip, the 32-year-old poses with a bottle of his Proper Twelve whiskey and interacts with an employee behind the shop’s till. The caption reads: “Support local.”

Ireland is currently in a severe ‘Level 5’ lockdown amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and with McGregor sporting no mask in the footage, critical comments soon flooded in on his post.

“WHERE IS YOUR MASK!!!!!!” wrote one user, while another commented: “Show respect and wear a mask.”

“You sure are a champ but you must wear your damn mask man,” wrote another user.

“Where’s your mask bud?” was another of the numerous critical replies to the post.

McGregor last fought in January, when he lost his rematch with Dustin Poirier via second-round TKO.

The pair first fought at featherweight in 2014, with McGregor finishing the American in the first round, but the result was reversed when the opponents met at lightweight in the main event of UFC 257.

McGregor has expressed interest in completing the trilogy against Poirier in his next bout.
