Conor McGregor and Holly Holm Win ESPYS

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and former women's bantamweight titleholder Holly Holm took home ESPY awards Wednesday night at ESPN's annual award show recognizing the greatest athletes in the world.

McGregor took home the award for best fighter. The 28-year-old Irishman fought three times in 2015, defeating Dennis Siver, Chad Mendes and Jose Aldo. After taking out Siver and Mendes by TKO, McGregor dethroned longtime champion Aldo in 13 seconds.

Holm captured the ESPY for best upset for her knockout win over former champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. Holm dismantled “Rowdy” and scored a stunning head-kick knockout in the second round of their November match-up. Rousey has not fought since.

Both McGregor and Holm have fights scheduled this summer. Holm headlines UFC on FOX 20 at the United Center in Chicago on July 23 against kickboxing standout Valentina Shevchenko. Mcgregor is scheduled to rematch Nate Diaz on Aug. 20 in the main event of UFC 202 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
