Conor McGregor Reveals He's ‘Going to be a Daddy Next Year'

Conor McGregor made history on Saturday at UFC 205 by becoming the first fighter to hold two divisional tites at the same time in the fight promotion's 23-year history when he defeated lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.

McGregor holds the 145-pound and the 155-pound titles. But the Irishman faces a new challenge that could put his career on hold.

“I'm going to be a daddy early next year,” McGregor revealed during the UFC 205 post-fight press conference.

For a man that isn't afraid to take on anyone inside the cage, becoming a father has him nervous.

“I'm crapping my jocks. I'm not going to lie. I don't know what way to take it because I don't want to be bringing a child into anything like this. I don't want any celebrity-type (expletive). I hate that (expletive). I don't want my family to be like that,” he said.

Becoming a father may lead to McGregor taking an extended hiatus from the sport.

“I'm just going to have this baby, take a little bit of time, and see the way I feel after that,” he said.

“I'm running from it to be honest. I'm crapping my jocks with the whole thing. I don't know what to be doing with myself.”
