The duo are fighting for the second time on the UFC’s Fight Island in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night, with McGregor having previously stopped ‘The Diamond’ inside two minutes in their first bout back in September 2014.
McGregor is heading into the octagon for the first time in 12 months after blitzing veteran Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in just 40 seconds in Las Vegas last January.
Another high-profile showdown with Khabib Nurmagomedov could await if the brash Dubliner impresses this weekend and his arch-rival agrees to end his short-lived retirement.
But former interim lightweight champion Poirier is now much improved from that first encounter and will have his eye firmly fixed on causing an upset.
There will be the lack of the usual wild atmosphere at a McGregor event due to the absence of fans caused by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, but you can still expect plenty of fireworks.
Here’s how to watch today’s UFC 257 weigh-ins…
