Erik ten Hag is close to completing his first Man Utd signing with Tyrell Malacia reportedly flying to England on Sunday to complete his transfer from Feyenoord.

Ligue 1 outfit Lyon looked set to sign Malacia before the Red Devils swooped in and hijacked the deal.

The first signings of Man Utd’s last seven managers as Ten Hag prepares to welcome Malacia…

The Premier League club acted fast to agree a fee with Feyenoord before coming to an agreement with the player over personal terms.

Malacia is expected to join for €17m and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the 22-year-old will pen a four-year contract with the option for a further year.

Romano has confirmed that the Netherlands international will fly to Manchester on Sunday.

He will undergo the first part of his medical then before signing his contract to become a Man Utd player.

His medical will be completed on Monday with an announcement bound to come shortly after.

Elsewhere, Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah can emulate Cristiano Ronaldo and still get goals in the Premier League well into his 30s.

The Reds recently tied Salah down to a new three-year deal worth somewhere between £350,000-a-week and £400,000-a-week.

“The way he looks after himself, I think he can be like a Cristiano Ronaldo, still getting goals in the Premier League,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“The way Salah leads his life, I think there is a good chance over the next three years you will see no sort of drop-off in terms of his numbers.

“Salah is already a Liverpool legend and if he’d moved on in 12 months he’d have still been a legend.

“What players like him, Alisson, Van Dijk, Mane, how they’ve changed the face of Liverpool Football Club along with the manager means they will all be legends no matter when they move on for the club and for whatever reason they move on from the club.

“I think the supporters are very thankful for what these players have given. Salah will finish his time in the top five or six players ever to have played for the club.

“He’s certainly in Liverpool’s best-ever XI and there’s no doubt that right now he’s a Liverpool legend and hopefully he can enhance that reputation over the next three years.”
