The England player hit 182 as Yorkshire chased down a victory target of 336 on the final day, reaching 339 for six to clinch a six-wicket win.

The 22-year-old's stunning knock spanned more than six hours, came off 283 balls and featured 22 fours and was only ended by Callum Thorp when Yorkshire were one run from victory. Adil Rashid also contributed with an unbeaten 50 before Tim Bresnan hit the winning boundary.

Stuart Broad's burst with the second new ball brought an end to Derbyshire's resistance against Nottinghamshire at the County Ground.

Four wickets in 17 balls from the England all-rounder sent Derbyshire tumbling to 229 all out in their second innings and set Notts the simple task of completing a nine-wicket victory at 43 for one.

Broad finished with four for 34 for the innings and eight for 91 in the match.

A stand of 79 for the sixth wicket between Dan Redfern (61) and David Wainwright (33) and some afternoon rain briefly threatened to frustrate Notts, but they prevailed.

Surrey's clash with Sussex ended in a draw after light showers and contrasting knocks from Graeme Smith, Vikram Solanki and Gary Wilson thwarted hopes of a Sussex win.

Surrey had reached 308 for five - an overall lead of 133 - when the sides shook hands on a draw at 5pm. Solanki made 83, Smith 67 and Wilson 60.

England opener Nick Compton made an unbeaten 105 as Somerset set champions Warwickshire a victory target of 515 at Taunton.
