Coventry City man rewarded with new contract extension until 2028
Coventry City have rewarded home-grown midfielder Josh Eccles with a new contract extension after an impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign.
The Coventry-born player, who graduated from his home town club's Academy, has continued to grow in stature this season, becoming a mainstay of the Sky Blues midfield alongside skipper Ben Sheaf.
The 24-year-old has racked up over 100 Championship appearances for the club and over 130 in all competitions, having scored three goals to date.

Eccles only signed a new and improved four-year deal in June 2023, taking him to 2027. But now the club have moved to extend that by another year, taking his current contract until the summer of 2028.
Speaking for the first time after agreeing his new contract, Josh told the club website: “I’m absolutely delighted to be signing a new contract with Coventry City, the club I have been with since I was seven.
"It’s a very proud moment for me and my family and I just want to kick on again now and keep improving.
"I’ve always gone by the motto that hard work always pays off and this contract proves to me that it does.
"I’ve been through some tough times, and you know it’s never going to be easy, so to get through those tough times and have this good moment, I’m delighted, and I can’t wait to get going again.”
