Craig Dawson has backed Wolves to replicate the performances of last season as he prepares to celebrate a career landmark.

Dawson, now 34, is just two games off 300 Premier League appearances, with more than 50 of those coming with Wolves since arriving at Molineux from West Ham in January 2023, and he is expected to go one step closer when he features at Fulham on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Despite previously playing for arch rivals West Bromwich Albion, Dawson has become a firm favourite with Wolves fans, mainly due to giving his all for the club every time he puts on the gold and black shirt.

Reminiscing on his time with the club so far, he told Wolves Express: "It was tough when I came in because we were in a situation which we shouldn't have been in, but I think we achieved our goal last season, and up until my injury, for me it felt like quite a successful season.

"We were quite high up in the league and still in the cup. Overall I think it has been good. Some things we can definitely improve on but it has been really good for me.

"City at home, Chelsea away, Spurs at home, there were many games last season where we achieved great things. With the quality in this group, it is definitely possible to do again, and something we need to do more of is show that quality and allow people to perform well.

"I felt like I was playing well and then I picked up a (groin) injury. It's been tough but I feel fit now again and I am really enjoying it.

"It was my first injury, first operation, first rehab really. There were days when you needed good people around you. My wife was pulling me out of bed because I literally couldn't move. I am thankful."

Wolves go into the game off the back of their first win of the season - a home victory over fellow strugglers Southampton before the international break. However, they remain ensconced in the bottom three as they head south to play a Fulham side cruising nicely in seventh, just a point behind third-placed Chelsea and looking to go four games unbeaten by avoiding defeat this weekend.
