Crewe moved level on points with seventh-placed Oxford following an impressive 3-0 win over Bristol Rovers in npower League Two.

Ajay Leitch-Smith and Kelvin Mellor both scored inside the opening six minutes with Harry Davis' second-half penalty meaning the Railwaymen are only outside the play-off places on goal difference.

New Rotherham boss Steve Evans watched his new side earned a dramatic 1-0 victory over play-off hopefuls Cheltenham. Evans has been appointed from Crawley and Ryan Cresswell welcomed him to the club with a 93rd-minute winner against Mark Yates' sixth-placed side.

Neither of the division's bottom sides could take advantage of Barnet's loss to Crawley as both Macclesfield and Hereford also tasted defeat.

An 82nd-minute goal from defender Adam Yates meant Macclesfield lost 1-0 at Port Vale while bottom side Hereford were also beaten by a late goal at Accrington.

Bobby Grant gave Stanley the lead before Bulls' midfielder Will Evans equalised just before the hour but the home side scored in the 85th minute through Padraig Amond to ensure Hereford remain at the foot of the table.

Plymouth now need only one more win to secure their league status after a tense 1-0 victory over Aldershot, Alex MacDonald netting the only goal after 17 minutes.

Dagenham stretched their unbeaten run to six games with a 2-1 win at Gillingham thanks to goals from Brian Woodall and Dominic Green. Rowan Vine had equalised for Gillingham who are now four points off the play-offs.

Burton won for only the second time in 20 league matches after an eventful 3-2 victory over Morecambe.

Adam Bolder and Aaron Webster had given Burton a two-goal lead but Jordan Burrow pulled one back for Morecambe right on half-time. Danny Carlton then struck four minutes after the interval to level the match before substitute Chris Palmer grabbed an 87th-minute winner for the Brewers.
