After winning the toss and electing to bat, Afghanistan’s hopes of setting a formidable target were dealt a blow when Mohammad Shahzad was caught out for a solitary run.

But Karim Sadiq (30) and Noor Ali Zadran (50) formed a steady partnership to get them back on track as Afghanistan went on to finish with a respectable 148/9.

A five-wicket haul from Samiullah Shenwari then quashed any hopes of a Kenya comeback as they fell to 114 all out with 10 balls remaining.
