The Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat and set an imposing 192 for the loss of only one wicket - Murali Vijay fell to the bowling of Kieron Pollard in the eighth over for 23 runs off 20 balls.

Suresh Raina stepped in alongside Michael Hussey (86 not out) to post 82 off 42 balls to carry his side to 192.

In response, Aditya Tare went in the second over for seven runs before Dwayne Smith settled and made six fours and five sixies in an impressive knock that was brought to an end at 68 off 28 balls.

Following his dismissal in the eighth over with his side’s chase at 87, the innings lost its impetus as his colleagues failed to score above 25 as they were bowled out for 144.

Dwayne Bravo took an impressive three for nine runs to ensure the Super Kings made it a fourth IPL final in a row.
