Calum MacLeod struck 67 for Scotland

MacLeod top-scored with 67 while Berrington contributed 62 but they received precious little support from their team-mates with only two other players managing to get into double figures - captain Preston Mommsen with 34 and opener Freddie Coleman with 13.

Scotland's chief tormentor was off-spinner James Ngoche, who claimed four for 58 off 21.5 overs, while his fellow spinner Hiren Varaiya took two for 46 after paceman Nehemiah Odhiambo (three for 29) had caused much of the early damage.

In reply, Kenya reached 11 for one off eight overs before stumps with Gordon Goudie trapping Alex Obanda lbw for one.

Both Scotland and Kenya have one win each from five matches in the Intercontinental Cup so far, with the Scots lying fourth in the eight-nation table on 46 points, four points and one place better off than their African opponents.
