The Royals posted 132/6 in their 20 overs, with Sanju Samson top scoring on 40 from 36 balls, while opener Shane Watson hit 35 off as many deliveries.

But KKR easily made that total as a speedy 49 from Yusuf Pathan added to decent knocks from Manvinder Bisla (29) and Jacques Kallis (33), seeing them home with nearly four overs to spare.

Sachithra Senanayake impressed with the ball for the Knight Riders, taking the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Dishant Yagnik while conceding 26 runs.

The result leaves the Royals third in the IPL standings, with KKR seventh in the nine-franchise table.
