Dundee United weathered the storm at Ibrox to pile more pressure on Philippe Clement.

Loud boos erupted around the stadium at full-time as Rangers failed to overcome the stubborn Tangerines in Govan. Despite a dominant first-half, Gers fell behind after 38 minutes as Sam Dalby powered a header past Jack Butland. There was a lengthy VAR check but the goal was eventually given, sparking wild celebrations in the away end.

Frustrated Gers fans made their feelings clear at the break after witnessing yet another flat and uninspiring display from Clement's flops. United's opener did come against the run of play but the hosts struggled to create any clear-cut chances to get the home crowd off their backs.

It must have felt like one of the biggest team talks of Clement's managerial career, with supporters already at end of their tether. The Belgian took action by making a double sub, as Mohamed Diomande and Cyriel Dessers were replaced by Ianis Hagi and Danilo.

Gers did show more energy and desire in the second-half but had to wait until the 66th minute until Vaclav Cerny dragged them back on level terms. The Czech played a clever one-two with Danilo and slid the ball into the net from the right-hand side of the six-yard box.

It was a huge goal and Cerny had the ball in the back of the net again a short time later after another combination with Danilo but was well offside. Rangers huffed and puffed in the dying minutes as they desperately searched for a vital winner. But even with eight minutes of additional team, they couldn't find a way past the outstanding Jack Walton as United held out for a 1-1 draw.

Aberdeen's 2-1 defeat at St Mirren means Gers have gained a point on the Dons, but could fall 11 behind Celtic should their Old Firm rivals win at Tynecastle later tonight.
