Billionaire Elon Musk congratulated Cristiano Ronaldo after his brace helped Al-Nassr to a 3-1 win over Al-Gharafa in the AFC Champions League.

The legendary former Manchester United forward notched two second half goals on Monday night to help the Saudi Pro League outfit maintain their qualification place in Group A. After the victory, Ronaldo, 39, took to X, owned by Musk, to celebrate his 12th and 13th goals of the season, writing: "Big win tonight!"

That was enough to prompt a reply from tech guru Musk, who replied to the post, writing: "Congrats!" Ronaldo, however, couldn't risk a poking fun at South African-born, US citizen Musk, replying: "… Glad your eyes have time for good “soccer”."

It was all in good jest, however, with Musk further replying: "Of course!"

Portugal international Ronaldo has scored 71 goals in 81 games since joining Al-Nassr from United in January 2023, though he has been linked with a return to Europe in recent days with his contract in Saudi Arabia expiring at the end of the season.

Ronaldo's former manager Jose Mourinho dismissed reports that he could be reunited with the forward at Fenerbahce at the end of the season.

"News about Cristiano Ronaldo to Fenerbahce are ridiculous," said Mourinho on Sunday.

"Cristiano might come to Istanbul to eat because it's right in the middle of the road between Saudi and Portugal. Or maybe he'll come see his old friend José, we can eat at my hotel."
