Crutchlow sure injury won't hinder form

Cal Crutchlow does not think his ankle injury will cause him any problems at all in this weekend's Dutch TT at Assen.

The Tech 3 Yamaha sustained a broken ankle in a practice crash in the last MotoGP round at Silverstone, but was allowed to race and came from the back of the grid to finish sixth.

Between races he received treatment in a hyperbaric chamber on the Isle of Man, and is feeling confident about his fitness going into this weekend's race.

"My ankle is coming along well. I think we've made good progress with it," said Crutchlow. "You could see at Silverstone it didn't really hinder me in the race.

"It's still a little bit sore to walk on the heel because it's still broken inside, so I have to wear a [protective] boot - quite a cool boot actually - to keep the foot in line just in case I go over on it because the ligaments are damaged."

Crutchlow also insisted that he would not let speculation about his future become a distraction. The Briton has admitted that he would like a factory ride for 2013 and is reportedly in discussions with Ducati.

"The press always have a field day because I tell it how it is," he said. "It doesn't divert from the job in hand.

"I've got to do for the best job I can and at the moment my job is riding for the Monster Tech 3 Yamaha team. Yamha are doing a fantastic job and so are the team. So I'm happy and hopefully we can continue to get some good results."
