Only one of Crystal Palace's out of contract players reported for pre-season testing today.

A total of 11 of Palace's players from last season are now officially out of contract after their deals expired at the end of June, though they are still awaiting the appointment of a new manager to make a call on their futures.

There is frustration for many of those awaiting a decision, having been told each of them would have to wait for Roy Hodgon's successor to be appointed before deals were handed out. A day later Christian Benteke's new contract was announced to prevent the Belgian's deal from expiring.

Players were back at the club's Beckenham training base today to report for pre-season testing, though just one of the 11 players who are now in limbo was expected to attend despite the offer to take part being open to may of those unsure of their futures.

Some of the players who were expecting to be given new deals, and had been in talks with sporting director Dougie Freedman, now feel it is more likely they will leave the club given the situation, with defender Scott Dann planning for life after Palace and considering other offers.

Andros Townsend, another who is now a free agent, was working as a pundit on TalkSPORT on Friday as opposed to reporting for the first day of testing.

Some of those who are expecting to leave the club are also frustrated that they - like Hodgson was - were unable to bid an official farewell to Palace supporters on the final day of last season.

Former Nice manager Patrick Vieira is expected to be announced as the club's new manager but the confirmation is taking longer than anticipated, causing more concern amongst those out of contract.
