Crystal Palace XI vs Chelsea: Confirmed early team news, predicted lineup, latest injuries for Premier League

Roy Hodgson is hoping Crystal Palace can find their feet in front of goal once more when they host Chelsea this evening.

The Eagles returned from lockdown with a 2-0 win over Bournemouth but have not found the back of the net in three games since.

With such a quick turnaround between games, and with a limited squad, there is little Hodgson can do to address the problem tactically.

"We work as we always do," said Hodgson. "Our training programme is balanced between attacking and defending although at the moment you don't have much of a chance to do proper training sessions because there are games coming so close to each other that it is always a question of [being] just after a game or just before one so we are limited in terms of the tactical work we can do.

"We've certainly done an awful lot over the last three season and certainly across this season, sometimes it happens that you get into a situation where players aren't getting the chances they would like to be receiving or maybe they are not taking them and you just have to battle through that.

"For front players it is a matter of confidence as well and sometimes the first goal can provoke other goals but there is nothing we can really do about it other than make certain that players keep doing the right things. Making the right runs, getting into the penalty box for crosses and being in the right positions if balls are cleared from the crosses and, more importantly, being prepared to take on the shooting chances when they arise."

Defender Martin Kelly has returned from injury to train for the first time this week but is unlikely to feature against Frank Lampard's side.
