Manor Solomon is being advised to stay at Fulham for another season and wave away a reported approach from Tottenham.

Former Liverpool, West Ham and Chelsea star Yossi Benayoun, who is currently the technical manager of the Israel national team, has revealed that Solomon asked him if he should quit Craven Cottage this summer and take the next step in his career.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk star has been attracting strong interest from top six clubs after taking the Premier League by storm since he returned from injury.

The 23-year-old scored in five consecutive games for Marco Silva’s mid-table side in the space of a month. That included the winner at Brighton and a stunning leveller at home to Wolves.

Solomon joined the Cottagers on a one-year loan from the Ukrainian side last summer following a FIFA ruling over the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

But with the deal due to expire on June 30, Solomon is deciding what best to do next.

And according to recent reports, his situation has attracted attention from Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

The whispers of interest from elsewhere drove Solomon to seek the advice of Israeli football legend Benayoun, who he played alongside for a season with Maccabi Petah Tikvah before leaving the country in 2019.

But rather than urging Solomon to move on, Benayoun reckons the winger’s career would be best served staying at Fulham for the time being.

“The truth is that he and his relatives have asked me this recently,” said the 102-cap former Israel international.

“I don’t get into financial matters – professionally he didn’t play enough games at Fulham because of the injury. But the crowd connected with him – they buy a lot of Manor shirts.

“My opinion is that he should continue another year at Fulham. He knows the place and because of that, the fans will encourage him and he will be much better.

“If he decides to go to another team, I promise I will be a fan of this team as well.”

Benayoun also told ONE’s ‘Shichat Hayom’ podcast that he had reassured the Fulham winger during a period when he has been in and out of the team, making only one start in the club’s last six league games.

“We talked a few days ago, but it’s part of football. Even when he was injured, I told him, ‘Everything will be fine, you’ll be back.’

“He proved to himself that he is suitable for the level in England. He can be a prominent player.

“He’ll still have many bad games in the Premier League or in any other league he plays in. It is part of a player’s life – there are less good games and better ones. In the end, the stable players last.”
