The 28-year-old Ferrari, who won stage 11 in an uphill sprint in Montecatini Terme, infamously incurred the wrath of Mark Cavendish after causing the British sprinter to crash on stage three of the race.
“I’m really very happy, I couldn’t find a better evolution for my career,” Ferrari, who has spent his entire season with Italian Pro Continental teams, said.
“Now I want to take on a new experience. It will be fascinating to ride on the same team as (Alessandro) Petacchi, a rider of absolute class. With the sporting directors, we’ll decide on what race programme is best suited to me.”
Lampre-ISD have also signed Filippo Pozzato from Farnese Vini-Selle Italia.
