Cyriel Dessers Rangers transfer chance has Cagliari 'hungry' for £4.5m swoop

Cagliari are reportedly "hungry" to do a deal to bring Cyriel Dessers in from Rangers.

The Nigerian striker hit 22 strikes last season as a player at Ibrox despite, at times, being criticised for his profligacy in front of goal. It was ultimately a somewhat strong campaign for the 29-year-old on an individual basis as he also lifted the Premier Sports Cup but now Serie A side Cagliari are hopeful of landing the attacker on a permanent deal.

Gers' asking price is believed to be in the region of around £5million which could potentially put off some suitors, but Tuttomercato claims the club have approached to enquire about his availability and how much it might take.

It's claimed in the same publication that the fee could be on the pricey side for the Italian club but that there could be wiggle room should the Light Blues be open to negotiating. Football Italia also claim there is a "hunger" for the deal that could even come via a loan with a purchase obligation.

It's clear manager Philippe Clement is pushing for a younger squad amid the overhaul and the arrival of 21-year-old Hamza Igamane could herald the end of Dessers' career in Glasgow.
