Czech footballer Frantisek Rajtoral has died at the age of 31, via BBC Sport.
Rajtoral played 24 times for his country and was apart of the team that reached the Euro 2012 quarter finals. The defender was plying his trade at Turkish top-flight club Gaziantepspor in 2016, having spent seven years with Viktoria Plzen, where he won the Czech league twice.
The 31-year-old was reportedly found dead at home after Gaziantepspor alerted authorities to his absence on Sunday.
Tributes have been flooding ever since the news broke that the former Hannover man had taken his own life. The Czech Football Association has expressed its ' deepest condolences to all his relatives'.
Gaziantepspor's president, Ibrahim Kizil, has also released a statement which reads:
"Unfortunately I can confirm that the news of suicide is true, h is team-mates were concerned after Rajtoral didn't participate in today's training session, h e had good spirits, he didn't seem to have any problem. I really don't know why he did such a thing."
Viktoria Plzeň, one of the defenders former clubs have also paid tribute saying "Rest in peace Rajt, we will all miss you so much, we will never forget you."
A ceremony honouring the late defender will be held on the 25th April at 15:00pm.
