Hong Kong-based private equity real estate firm Phoenix Property Investors is eyeing to boost its investment in Southeast Asia, especially in Singapore. The Singapore government is willing to allow families in the Fresh Start Housing Scheme to shorten the 20-year Minimum Occupation Period (MOP) should their family and financial circumstances improve. “There’s MOP for commitment, but also there’s a flexibility to look at things at a case-by-case basis. So this I think, will motivate, incentivise and inspire them, so that they can work on (the 20 years) as a first milestone,” said Minister of State for Defence and Foreign Affairs Maliki Osman.
