Daily Fantasy Analysis: Divock Origi vs Christian Benteke - Head to Head in Gameweek 34

Yahoo Daily Fantasy

Two Belgian strikers will be squaring off directly against one another when Liverpool host Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Divock Origi, in the Liverpool team due to injuries to several first-team players, will be looking to better his national team-mate Christian Benteke, who left the Reds earlier this season after just one campaign at Anfield.

Both are strong in the air, quick across the turf and sharp in front of goal, but who is more likely to bag you Yahoo Daily Fantasy points?

Going by the official statistics, there's a bit of a gap between the two strikers. Benteke has offered an average of 8.3 fantasy points per game recently, while Origi has just 5.3 points on average to offer.

In terms of goals it's a little tighter, although again Benteke has the advantage. In his past four games the Palace forward has managed three goals against the likes of Chelsea, Southampton and Leicester.

Origi has two in four but hasn't hit the back of the net in either of his two most recent games, showing he isn't quite as sharp as his compatriot. Benteke wins this round.

Neither side have covered themselves in glory defensively this season. Liverpool have the joint worst at the back among the top six, alongside Arsenal with 40 goals leaked, while Crystal Palace's relegation worries are mainly down to the 52 efforts they've conceded.

However, both sides have shown renewed steel at the back as of late. Liverpool somewhat unexpectedly kept a clean sheet at West Brom last week, surviving a barrage of long balls to come out unscathed, while Palace have recorded three shut outs in their last six league games.

It does look like there will be goals in Sunday's game, given the attacking talent on display, but if Palace score it will most likely be Benteke. Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino have been the form men for Liverpool in recent weeks and Origi's may not be as influential as his opposite number.

Benteke is the pricier of the two, taking £18 out of your £200 budget should you want the former Aston Villa forward for your lineup this weekend.

Origi is just a quid cheaper at £17, meaning there is little between the two when it comes to price. There's virtually nothing in it, so it's down to opinion whether to plug for the Liverpool youngster or the established Crystal Palace man.

Either way, there are bound to be goals on Sunday, so it would probably be good practice to sign one of the forwards.
