Daily Fantasy: Champions League Gameweek 7 Dreamteam

We’re four games into Gameweek 7 of the Champions League but already we’ve seen several stars stand up and stamp their marks in their Last 16 first-leg ties.

Lots of players stood out, as a remarkable 15 goals were scored across the four games this week but who made it into our Dreamteam below?

For once, the gameweek wasn’t dominated by forwards – the top 5 scoring positions were held by 4 midfielders and a goalkeeper – and our Dreamteam was unsurprisingly influenced by Bayern Munich and PSG players, with not an Arsenal or Borussia Dortmund player in sight.

More than half of the Dreamteam came from Bayern or PSG and it was so close to being one more – PSG striker Edinson Cavani had exactly the same score as Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne but lost out as the Uruguayan was more expensive (£25) than Insigne (£23).

The midfield was dominated by Bayern and PSG players, with 2 each, with Real Madrid’s Casemiro completed the numbers. However, both forwards came from the match at the Bernabeu, as Real’s Karim Benzema and Insigne held off the likes of Cavani and Robert Lewandowski.

Both of Benfica’s contributions came at the back, through defender Luisao and goalkeeper Ederson Moraes – his performance against Dortmund showed why he is being tracked by, among other clubs, Real Madrid. The 3-man defence was rounded out by PSG duo Layvin Karzawa and Thomas Meunier.
