The second legs of the Champions League quarter finals are done, but which players starred in Yahoo’s Daily Fantasy and made our Dreamteam?
This week’s Dreamteam features players from almost all eight teams – only Bayern Munich and Juventus don’t have a representative. LaLiga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona led the charge with both team contributing three players each.
The front line is an interesting mix of Real’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Leicester striker Jamie Vardy and Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe. Between them they contributed an impressive 5 goals, and Ronaldo in particular was immense. Apart from scoring a hat-trick, the Portuguese super star also had 7 shots, 5 on target, and even did some defending from the front by making 2 interceptions and 2 blocks. His score of 43.10 was almost twice as good as the next best.
In the midfield, Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus marked his return from injury with a goal against Monaco. In Fantasy terms, his 4 shots on target and all-round play helped drive him to an impressive 21.80 points. Real Madrid starlet Marco Asensio also performed strongly with 18.1 points and Atletico Madrid star Saul Nigez’s goal helped him to 16.2 points. Monaco’s Thomas Lemar also made our team with 13.3 points against Dortmund.
Our defence is entirely made up the Clasico rivals. Barcelona trio Gerard Pique (9.8), Samuel Umtiti (8.8) and goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen (14) all make the Dreamteam in what was a relatively low scoring round for defenders. Real Madrid fullback Marcelo rounds out the team with his score of 15.7 against Bayern Munich.
