Daizen Maeda picked as Premier League star's worst nightmare as he'd 'HATE' to face Celtic favourite

Daizen Maeda has been named the player Japan star Daichi Kamada would HATE to come up against.

The Celtic attacker has proven himself at Parkhead for his non-stop running and buzzbomb nature where he's constantly on the move and terrorising opponents. The 26-year-old gave Rangers captain James Tavernier a nightmare last weekend in the Hoops' 3-0 win over their rivals and Crystal Palace striker Kamada knows how tough it would be to turn out against his pal.

The pair were in action this afternoon for Japan as they battered China 7-0 in which Maeda netted, but Kamada is sure it would be tough to play on the opposite side as his mate - which is why he's chosen instead to get close to the winger.

"The player I’d hate to face in a game is Daizen because I don’t like coming up against players who run a lot," Kamada said.

“We have a brilliant relationship on and off the pitch. We sit together on the bus, we eat dinner, lunch and breakfast together. We always go to the sauna together. He even fetches me sweets and coffee even when I haven’t asked!

“Daizen is the type of person that everyone loves. I remember when he first came into the Japan team and he wasn’t really interacting with anyone. But I started talking to him, we became friends.

“And we have taken that relationship onto the pitch too which is good for Japan.”
