Dan Henderson ‘Not Done Yet,' Happy About Extra Special Win

It took just 28 seconds for Dan Henderson to gain a sense of jubilation.

In the main event at UFC Fight Night 68 on Saturday night, Henderson came into the bout riding a two-fight losing streak and a loser in five of his last six. He also hadn't seen a knockout win in the UFC since his drubbing of Michael Bisping way back at UFC 100 in 2009. So with his quick finish of Tim Boetsch, Henderson felt more alive than he had in years.

Jubilation, commence.

“It obviously feels good to win, but this one probably feels extra special,” Henderson said on the FOX Sports 1 post-fight show. “The last couple of years I’ve had, the bad luck. It wasn’t necessarily my age; it was losing a couple real close fights and then the last fight I feel like the referee kind of jumped in a little bit.

“It feels good to be in this position right now, and to finish the fight the way I did.”

Henderson landed his world-renowned right hand (aka the H-bomb) after measuring Boetsch and calculating the right time to land his signature punch. Once Boetsch came forward, widely swinging his fists, Henderson saw the right opportunity. It was just as he pictured it would happen.

“He rushes in,” Henderson said of Boetsch. “I was kind of expecting that.”

In finishing his UFC New Orleans opponent, Henderson sent a message to all those who see his career being over. Quite the contrary, according to Henderson, who is now fourth all time in knockouts with 14 among UFC/Pride/WEC/Strikeforce fighters.

Now comes the time when the 44-year-old considers the next step in his career. Retirement isn't an option quite yet, and Hendo is happy to give everyone another “H-bomb” in the Octagon, even if just one more time.

“I’m not done yet. I feel great,” he said. “I’m just gonna enjoy the win right now.”
