Pittsburgh sportsfans will have a chance to say goodbye in person to belovedSteelersChairman Dan Rooney, who died Thursday at age 84.
The team has announced that Heinz Field will host a public viewing Monday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at thePNC Champions Club.
Rooney's funeral will be held Tuesdayat 11 a.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, at 108 N. Dithridge St. in Pittsburgh.
In lieu of flowers, Rooney's family is requesting memorial contributions toDuquesne University (Rooney's alma mater), or the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Rooney, whose father, Art, paid a $2,500 fee for the Steelers to join the NFL in 1933,is survived by his wife, Patricia, and seven of the couple's nine children.
