Dancing on Ice's Billie Faiers will miss this week's show
Dancing on Ice 2021 contestant Billie Faiers, who also goes by her married name of Billie Shepherd, will not be taking part in this weekend's show following a family bereavement.
A spokesperson confirmed the news to Metro.co.uk, stating that the former The Only Way Is Essex star won't skate on Sunday (January 31) but is expected to return to the ice the following week.
"Sadly due to a family bereavement this week Billie Shepherd is taking a break from the ice and won't be on Sunday's show," they said.
"We look forward to her returning next week and send her all of our love at this sad time."
Billie and her sister and Sam & Billie: The Mummy Diaries co-star, Sam Faiers, asked for privacy at this time.
The star is competing with professional ice dancer Mark Hanretty. The two made their debut on the ice last weekend (January 24) when Myleene Klass and her pro partner Łukasz Różycki were the first couple to be voted out of the competition.
The news that Billie will be missing this week's show came just days after it was announced that Denise van Outen had dropped out of the competition following a nasty shoulder injury.
ITV confirmed that Olympic gymnast Amy Tinkler will take her place and will make her debut on the ice on Sunday alongside Joe Johnson.
Denise explained why she had no decision but to withdraw in an Instagram post.
"Initially we thought with rest I could make a return to the ice, but a recent MRI scan has shown that I have 3 bone fractures as well as a partial dislocation," she wrote.
"OUCH! No wonder I've been in agony."
Dancing on Ice airs on Sundays on ITV.
