Dani Olmo made waves for Spain in its Euro 2024 quarterfinal clash with Germany, netting a goal against the hosts in a 2-1 victory.

The RB Leipzig forward broke the deadlock in the second half, gliding past Manuel Neuer following an assist from Lamine Yamal. Olmo is tipped as the latest gem to emerge from the Bundesliga's talent factory, tracing the path of Dominik Szoboszlai and Ibrahima Konate, who previously made the leap from the German league to Liverpool.

Transfer rumors are a staple of modern soccer, and Liverpool, particularly during Jurgen Klopp's tenure, have often been linked with numerous players. With Arne Slot at the helm and Richard Hughes stepping in as sporting director, the rumour mill surrounding Anfield is unlikely to slow down, especially after recent comments from both men to the press last Friday.

Olmo himself has not been spared from Liverpool transfer chatter and has spoken about the buzz surrounding his future at Die Roten Bullen. Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo mentioned Liverpool as one of the clubs eyeing the 26-year-old superstar.

During the Euros, Olmo addressed the speculation, stating: "I am calm and focused on what is coming, which is the Euro, which is no small thing. It is clear that it is good to see your name related to great teams in Europe and the world, that motivates me, but I am focused on the Euro and I hope we can return with the trophy.

"Then we'll see. It's nice to see your name related to the greats, but I insist, it's nothing that bothers me. I am focused on the field and then whatever has to be, will be."

Manchester City is also said to be after the forward. Rumors suggest interest from Pep Guardiola's team is concrete with the Spanish coach keen to welcome his compatriot to Manchester. It's believed the player's $65 million release clause will expire this summer.

A potential move for Olmo is purely speculative at this point and might depend on what happens with Luis Diaz. The Colombian international has been the subject of many rumours sparked by Spanish press.

It's believed Barcelona is setting its sights on Diaz while considering selling former Leeds man Raphinha to secure funds for the Reds star. Yet there is no intent from Liverpool to part ways with its former FC Porto player.

That being said, if Diaz were to exit, it would leave the coveted No. 7 shirt available - a number Olmo has proudly worn for the last three seasons at Leipzig, which could be a tempting offer for the Spaniard.
