Daniel Jarvis, a British prankster and pitch invader, also known as Jarvo 69, has been reportedly arrested by the police after his latest stunt on day two of the ongoing fourth Test between England and India at the Oval in London. Jarvo has gained international notoriety thanks to his antics in the second and third Test of the series.
Jarvo 69 was seen invading the ground, giving the security a miss at the Lord’s during the second Test as India was fielding and stood with the Indian fielders during a short break and waited for instructions as to where he will field. He wore a replica India Test whites. He was removed by the security, thought the Indian team players found him hilarious.
The second time he made an appearance was at Headingley, when he walked out to bat wearing all the cricketing gear after the fall of a wicket when India was batting and managed to reach the pitch before the police and security personnel forcibly.
Jarvo 69 Bumps Into England’s Jonny Bairstow During His Invasion At Oval
While it was expected that Jarvo might not make an appearance at the Oval during the 4th Test, given that he had already tested his luck twice, the second day saw him coming on the pitch and stopping play as Umesh Yadav was going to bowl a ball.
Jarvo 69 had a ball in his hand and managed to deliver it reaching the pitch in the process and then bumped into England batsman Jonny Bairstow, who was startled to see him on the pitch. Though the security was able to remove him from the ground, many cricket experts and former India cricketers were not happy with this repeated breach of security and slammed the ECB for their lackluster arrangements.
But as per a reporter of the Sun, Elizabeth Ammon, tweeted that Daniel Jarvis or Jarvo 69 had been arrested for his stunt at the Oval on suspicion of assault and was lodged in custody.
“Jarvo” has been arrested on suspicion of assault – he remains in custody at a south London Police station,” Ammon tweeted.
Meanwhile, England finished their first innings for 290 taking a 99-run lead. Ollie Pope shined with 81 and Chris Woakes contributed largely with the bat as well, scoring a quick 50.
