Danny Murphy full of praise for 'brilliant' Celtic duo in Champions League draw
Danny Murphy was full of praise for two Celtic players in particular, following their Champions League win.
The Hoops hosted Belgian Pro League champions at Celtic Park and were soon a goal down after Cameron Carter-Vicker’s blunder, rolling the ball into his own bottom corner after Kasper Schmeichel had vacated the goal to receive a pass. Nevertheless, Brendan Rodgers’ side fought on and found an equaliser through Daizen Maeda’s curling effort from the left-hand side of the area.
They nearly conceded a second goal however, when Maxim De Cuyper raced through one on one, but the Danish international pulled off an excellent save to palm it around the post. The ex-Liverpool and England player was impressed by the keeper’s save, and highlighted the importance of it at that point in the match.

“Well, he did [pull off a brilliant save from De Cuyper]," he said on BBC's Champions League highlights Match of the Day.
"All big games are about moments and this was a moment of real quality. A brilliant fingertip save.
“We know he is capable of that. I think, at that stage, if he hadn’t made that save, then Celtic would have given themselves a mountain to climb, so credit to him and the team actually for the resilience to get back into it. It was better in the second half.”
On Maeda's finish, he added: “This is a brilliant goal, great skill. He doesn’t even need to look at the goal. Just a nice caress into the far corner. A brilliant finish.”
