David Moyes hopes Jesse Lingard will consider making a permanent move to West Ham this summer, but insists the ball is in Manchester United's court over any potential transfer.

The England international has been an astonishing success since joining the Hammers on loan in January, scoring nine goals and claiming four assists. On Friday, Lingard was named Premier League player of the month for April and also won goal of the month for his strike against Wolves.

There was no option to buy included in Lingard's loan deal and Manchester United have yet to signal whether they will let him leave on a permanent deal this summer or offer more chances in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

The 28-year-old is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of next season and his form has garnered plenty of attention from elsewhere.

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are keeping a keen eye on the midfielder while Tottenham were interested last summer, though Jose Mourinho's exit may have changed their stance.

Asked what chance the Hammers had of landing a deal, Moyes said: "I'm not sure how realistic it is.

"I think Jesse has enjoyed himself, I hope he has, we've enjoyed having him.

“Manchester United, he is their player so they can decide what to do with him.

“If they choose that they want to let him go then I'd hope he'd consider us as one of his options."
