Deadline day 'talks' held as stumbling block for Nottingham Forest transfer set out
Attacker Emmanuel Dennis is said to have held talks over securing a departure from Nottingham Forest on transfer deadline day.
The 27-year-old is out of favour at the City Ground and in line to head elsewhere before the window closes at 11pm this evening. He was left out of the Reds’ 25-man Premier League squad for the first half of the season and has not featured for the club since May 2023.
According to the BBC, Dennis has had discussions with former side Watford as well as French outfit Toulouse. German team Werder Bremen have also been credited with an interest in clinching his signature and Sheffield Wednesday have recently been linked.

The Nigerian is said to be keen to get a move sorted before the cut-off. However, finances could reportedly prove to be a stumbling block as a “compromise” will be needed amid his £60,000 a week wages.
Dennis signed for Forest from the Hornets in the summer of 2022 for a reported £20 million fee. He has made 25 appearances in the Garibaldi and has scored two goals.
The last time he played for the Reds was when he came off the bench against Crystal Palace on the final day of the 2022/23 campaign. He spent last term on loan at Turkish side Basaksehir and then at Vicarage Road.
Forest have already sanctioned one exit on deadline day. Midfielder James Ward-Prowse has returned to parent club West Ham United after his loan spell came to an early end.
Another departure appears to be close, with Lewis O’Brien closing on a move to Swansea City. According to our colleagues at WalesOnline, the 26-year-old is on his way to complete a medical.
