SAINTS’ players will have felt a sense of relief as tension lifted and they fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Leeds United.

They will tell you they have not seen any rumours or reports of disarray – but this is the era of group chats, the vast majority of them are fully aware.

After a heavy opening day defeat, the draw is a result – although not perfect given Leeds are also a team likely to be in the bottom-half – that earns an extended buy-in from supporters.

Ralph Hasenhuttl also awarded two Premier League debuts to new summer signings, while fringe players put in match-saving performances.
